Patterns, or gobos, are widely used by designers in
theatre, film, photography, and television to create
atmosphere, project scenery, and generally enhance the visual
impact of their lighting. Several hundred different
designs are available which are etched in stainless steel
using a precise double-sided process resulting in high quality
patterns which will withstand the extreme heat at the gate of
ellipsoidal spotlights. Pattern holders are necessary to
secure the pattern in the gate of the ellipsoidal.
Several types of holders are available and we will work with
you to insure that you have a complete system that will work
for your application. The standard "B" size
is suitable for most fixtures with a 6" lens when used
with a pattern holder. Trimming of patterns, where
necessary, can be easily accomplished with a pair of
scissors. Donuts provide greater sharpness and contrast
to the image by reducing lens flare. Patterns are also
offered in different sizes, from heat resistant glass and
custom designs.
